The heat pounded on the dry land that seemed to never stop rolling. And what a perfect day to hunt at one of the few watering holes. This was the time where a rustle would ruin everything.Osiris had been eyeing his soon to be dinner for what seemed hours on end. The large Irish elk continued to drink the cool, refreshing water when Osiris went for her. He started to run closer to the beast, adrenaline spreading to every nerve in his body. Osiris tackled his prey till she was pinned to the ground, which was never a problem for him, for his forelimbs were very muscular. Then he opened his mouth and began to stab his prey in the neck. Osiris took a step back, watching his prey bleed out. The lifeless carcass laid in it’s own blood, beginning to stain is fur red. dumb animal.Osiris panted, now recalling how hot his surrounding was. Remembering that he wasn’t the only one who was hungry in this turf, Osiris grabbed the limp animal and carried it close to his body.

Kairos In the midday heat, the leopard-sized Dinictis was in no rush to do anything. He was full, having this morning finished off the rest of the rest of the meat from the baby mammoth he had caught the previous day, so he did not need to hunt. So he lazed in the shade of a small tree not far from a watering hole, watching as various animals came and went. The combination of his full belly and the warm air began to put Kairos to sleep. He was giving in too.
Eyes closed, the male's breathing gradually slowed. He was nearly asleep when the sounds of a scuffle brought him back to the waking world. His sabered teeth seeming to grow larger as he yawned wide before his dark eyes looked around him to find the source of disturbance. There. By the watering hole a larger cousin of his - a saber-tooth tiger - was wrestling with a doe, and obviously winning. The Dinictis watched as predator quickly overcame his prey. Before long the saber-tooth had his kill.
Kairos was fascinated by the event. Sure, he has been on a hunt many times himself, but he had never seen anyone else hunt. He almost wanted to go and congratulate the saber on his good hunt, but by the way he was guarding his kill, he would not appreciate being approached. Kairos was aware of how aggressive his larger cousins could be, particularly when males interacted with males. He was stout and strong for his kind, but he was not sure how he would stand up to a larger saber-toothed feline if a fight ensued, and that was something the golden cat wished to avoid. So Kairos simply held his place, watching from afar.

Chalice was practically prancing as she jogged through the grassland on a gorgeous morning. It was a bit on the cool side, no mistake, but the wind was low and the sun was high. She paused and her twitched forward, her tail twitching for a moment before she slunk back down into the grass and continued her morning walk. In the distance clouds were brewing and she wondered if they'd bring rain or snow. Either way she wasn't found of precipitation.
The scent of blood caught her attention and she licked her lips. She wasn't terribly hungry but the scent of breakfast had caught her curiousity. The young Dinictis scented the air for a minute and with the mix of death she caught the scents of two male cats of some sort. Smiladon? No....that wasn't quite right. What were they?
Curious, the femme changed direction to follow the scent and soon came upon two males and a kill. A saber-toothed cat was tearing into a doe while another Dinictis watched a little ways away. She hadn't seen one of her own kind in quite awhile. Curious she let out a chrip of greeting, ears forward to see how the two respond to her presence.

As Osiris was dragging his prey, heard the sound of a female greeting him made him freeze. It reminded him that he wasn‘t the only one around. Osiris looked behind him to see what disrupted his fresh prey. A female looking his direction was all there was. He let out a low growl that most likely he could only hear. Osiris noticed her ears forward, waiting for his reaction. He looked at his side, noticing a smaller species around him. Osiris ignored him for the reason that he was not threatening. Osiris focused his attention to the curious female. He saw that she was merely harmless. So, as any kind fellow, Osiris let out a greeting back to her.
***P.S.-- Sorry 4 being so late!!***
